Manage payroll tax filings and deposits for federal, state, and local jurisdictions across the U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico, and Guam.
Perform rigorous daily, per-pay-period, and quarterly tax balancing to reconcile PeopleSoft payroll data against ADP reports.
Resolve any variances in taxable wages or tax amounts immediately.
Lead the year-end process, including the audit, production, and distribution of W-2s (U.S./Guam/PR) and T4s (Canada).
Ensure all corrected forms (W-2c) are filed accurately.
Support payroll tax requirements for a global headcount of 45,000+, ensuring international mobility and cross-border tax implications are addressed.
Serve as the lead point of contact for internal and external payroll tax audits.
Stay ahead of legislative changes (e.g., SUI rates, provincial tax shifts, or federal updates) to ensure system configurations remain compliant.
Proactively manage tax notices and tracers from various jurisdictions, ensuring timely resolution of discrepancies and penalty abatement requests.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience
Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience
In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience
4+ years of dedicated payroll tax experience in a large-scale corporate environment
Mastery of payroll tax laws in all 50 U.S. States, plus specialized knowledge of Canadian (CRA/Revenu Québec), Puerto Rico (Hacienda), and Guam tax regulations
Advanced hands-on experience with PeopleSoft Payroll and ADP SmartCompliance
Expert-level Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, Power Query) for large-scale data reconciliation and tax balancing
Leverage AI-driven data validation tools to drive accuracy and efficiency
