Accounts Payable Accountant, German

Role Overview

The Accounts Payable Accountant is responsible for supporting and executing core Accounts Payable processes within an international Shared Service Center, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing of financial transactions.

YOU WILL

• Reconcile Accounts Payable accounts and monitor open items to ensure timely resolution and prevent aging
• Process incoming invoices via electronic workflow and validate their correctness
• Handle travel expenses in Concur and support banking activities, including outgoing payments
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve AP-related discrepancies and open items
• Prepare and maintain proper documentation for AP processes
• Run and analyze AP-related reports and metrics
• Identify process improvement opportunities and support root cause analysis

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
• Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in SSC/BSC or international environment
• Strong knowledge of SAP and MS Excel
• Understanding of GAAP principles
• Fluent German (mandatory) and English – German is essential for daily operational communication
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment
• Well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines
