Oversees day-to-day and month-end close entries including revenue, payroll, prepaid expenses, unbilled accounts receivable, and accrued liabilities
Prepares/reviews complex reconciliations for necessary balance sheet accounts and various other general ledger accounts
Responsible for the month-end and year-end closing process
Develops and maintains understanding of the accounting operations within each assigned client
Assists external auditors and tax accountants
Assists in the preparation of client’s year-end 1099 submissions
Recommends, designs, and implements department controls and procedures
Communicates with clients on an ongoing basis
Reviews and supervises the accounting teams’ monthly work

Minimum 7 years’ experience in the nonprofit accounting field with at least 3 years as a manager
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field combined with relevant accounting experience, CPA preferred
Proficiency in automated accounting system software and spreadsheet applications, such as Sage Intacct and/or QuickBooks
Skilled at working with limited supervision and ability to manage and coach employees
Executive-level communication skills
Advanced understanding of general and subsidiary ledgers and financial statements
Strong project management skills including development and monitoring of engagement budgets
Proactive, innovative, adheres to deadlines, responsive to client and management requirements
Ability to be flexible and work in a fast-paced environment.
