Develops and manages comprehensive internal export and import controls to ensure compliance with US and foreign regulations in the conduct of international marketing, sales, supply chain and other business activities.
Establishes business processes for submitting to and obtaining from the US government all necessary export and import licenses, permits, certifications, and technology release determinations.
Establishes and maintains relations with appropriate government regulatory agencies.
Establishes operational processes for assuring trade compliance through gate reviews fo technical data, foreign travel, foreign visits and export and import shipments.
Maintains applicable trade compliance records in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Supports law department in investigating and resolving compliance problems, questions, or complaints.
Establishes and maintains training and audit assessment programs to ensure implementation and effectiveness of internal controls.
Generates performance metrics for export and import processes.
Experience training company employees in both formal and informal settings
Ability to develop creative course content and training material
Experience in compliance activities, such as performance of assessments, investigations, and related disclosures
Excellent writing ability
Strong customer service focus
Fluency in Microsoft Office Applications
Detailed administrative, reporting, and record-keeping habits
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of relevant exempt experience;
Master’s Degree and 1 years of relevant professional experience
One of the following may be used as equivalent to Bachelor's Degree to meet minimum qualifications:
NNS Apprentice School graduate
Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience
Direct operational experience in the ITAR and EAR (e.g., export licensing including writing agreement submissions and use of exemptions and exceptions)
Direct operational experience processing international transactions (e.g., international shipments, international travel, foreign visitor requests, technology control plans)
Direct operational experience conducting Denied Party Screenings, and use of related software search engines
Experience using OCR EASE SYSTEM software
Knowledge of the FTR (export and/or import) and the OFAC regulations
Knowledge of international transportation & logistics functions
Ability to work in a dynamic and fluid environment
Demonstrated skills to drive process improvements
Ability to work independently on complex tasks, to lead tasks or projects
Superior communication skills for effective interaction with technical personnel, engineers, and all levels of management
