Build and maintain detailed financial models for a variety of business models (e-commerce, tech, professional services &/or consumer product goods)
Develop business performance reporting and custom financial & operating KPI dashboards; Report on KPIs on a monthly basis
Work hand-in-hand with the accounting team to review and cross-check monthly client financial performance
Perform monthly variance analysis focused on actuals vs. budgets vs. constantly evolving forecasts
Work with clients to find analytical and modeling projects outside of the normal budgeting and review process to add additional value
Provide input and advice to clients based upon scalable best practices to improve their results, improve internal processes, reduce or optimize costs and increase sales
Identify strategic insights and big picture conclusions through analyzing the data
Assist clients in the fundraising process including building investor-facing models, leading financial diligence process, working directly with VCs, etc.
Help train Propeller’s Financial Analyst team
Requirements
Minimum of 4 to 6 years in finance-focused roles such as:
2+ years in investment banking and/or consulting
2+ years focused on FP&A and/or strategic finance in-house at a technology or high-growth company
Great team player and work ethic
Superior financial modeling and presentation skills
Deep understanding of financial principles and expanding knowledge of accounting principles
Ability to build complex 3 statement financial forecasts and provide in-depth variance analysis and insights to inform business decisions
Comfort with data and ambiguity, and an ability to delve into details and adapt priorities on the fly
Highly organized with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple client workstreams
Ability and desire to teach others within the organization to help grow the broader internal FP&A skill set
