Role Overview
- Conducting a daily review of assigned patient accounts to identify and research denied and underpaid claims
- Taking the initiative to start the follow-up process with insurance companies to communicate and resolve claims related issues
- Maintaining accurate and clear notations on patient accounts of follow-up actions taken
- Communicating recurring denials and claims processing delays on a regular basis with the Revenue Cycle Management team
- Utilizing monthly aging accounts receivable reports to follow up on unpaid claims aged over 30 days
- Responding to inquiries from insurance companies, patients, and other co-workers
- Regularly attending and participating in weekly staff meetings and continuing educational sessions as requested
- Performing additional duties as requested by the Revenue Cycle Management team
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 2 or more years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
