Associate Attorney – Mass Civil Litigation

Role Overview

• Represent NWADV as part of the attorneys' fees enforcement team, handling enforcement cases from all Brazilian states;
• Manage court notices/publications, schedule deadlines in the case management system, review case files, prepare reports and meet deadlines;
• Update fee calculations and subsequently contact opposing counsel to attempt to resolve the dispute by settlement;
• Draft defenses, appeals and various court submissions;
• Conduct credit recovery actions: execution (enforcement), monitória (payment-order proceedings) and collection actions;
• Take steps to advance the case to obtain payment (request SISBAJUD, RENAJUD, INFOJUD, SNIPER, etc.);
• Handle enforcement of judgments, including preparation and challenge of calculations.

Requirements

• Minimum 1.5 years of active registration with OAB/SP (São Paulo Bar Association);
• Experience in high-volume (mass litigation) law firms;
• Practical experience with credit recovery actions;
• Experience with the enforcement phase of judgments, including preparation and challenge of calculations, asset-securing measures and filing objections;
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; intermediate Excel skills required occasionally;
• Ability to prepare defenses, appeals and various court filings;
• Strong command of enforcement proceedings, including calculation preparation and challenges.
