Develop and execute a five-year strategic automation roadmap to outline long-term investment opportunities
Define the technical scope for MG-NA automation projects, including AGVs, robotics, and cobots
Lead and coordinate complex, long-term engineering projects from inception to completion within budgetary and scheduling guidelines
Act as a technical mentor, providing guidance and coaching to site-level technical teams on automation solutions
Partner with international regions to benchmark and transfer best-in-class Avery Dennison automation solutions worldwide
Represent the organization as the prime technical contact on major contracts and projects, interacting with senior external personnel and internal leadership
Requirements
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related scientific field is required
Minimum of 6+ years of engineering, research, or scientific experience with a Bachelor’s degree (or 4+ years with a Master’s degree)
Strong background in industrial electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems; must be able to complete difficult technical assignments without immediate supervision
Proficiency in AutoCAD to develop and update complex drawings (P&IDs, PFDs)
Experience with MS Project or Smartsheet for project tracking
Working knowledge of Six Sigma and ELS (Avery Dennison's Enterprise Lean Sigma) principles preferred
Experience with high-volume manufacturing processes and capital equipment purchasing
Strong verbal and written skills; ability to interface effectively with cross-functional groups to define and execute requirements
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time, both domestic and international, based on business needs
