Role Overview
- Diagnose building damage — identify causes, defects, and repair requirements.
- Lead subsidence investigations — specify site investigations, interpret geotechnical reports, and recommend solutions.
- Manage insurance claims — from first visit to reinstatement, ensuring technical accuracy and fair outcomes.
- Oversee building works — project manage repairs, administer contracts, value works, and authorise payments.
- Ensure safety & compliance — including CDM, Health & Safety, Building Regulations, and Party Wall matters.
- Produce professional reports — clear, concise, and technically robust.
- Collaborate with stakeholders — policyholders, insurers, loss adjusters, contractors, and local authorities.
- Maintain accurate records — using the company’s claims management system.
- Work independently — managing your own workload and supporting other regions when needed.
Requirements
- A degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Building Surveying, or similar.
- Strong technical understanding of buildings, foundations, pathology, and construction.
- Confidence diagnosing structural issues and specifying repair strategies.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer‑first mindset.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, changing environment.
- Solid numeracy, commercial awareness, and IT literacy (MS Office).
- Flexibility, enthusiasm, and a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
- A full UK driving licence and a suitable home office setup.
