Under supervision of licensed professional engineer, develops electrical engineering studies, plans, specifications, calculations, evaluations, design documents, and assessments for commercial facilities, including new construction and renovation
Works somewhat autonomously to utilize Revit MEP and other MEP-specific design and calculation software to create detailed designs for construction documents
Selects electrical materials appropriate for facilities based on coordination with architects, engineers, plans, specifications, and code requirements
Occasionally partners directly with clients to form an understanding of and to define project scope, constraints, and design requirements, and provides support through construction completion
Ensures design products are complete, accurate, include the appropriate level of detail, align with client standards, and meet all relevant regulations and code requirements
Participates in and ensures QC/QA procedures are followed
Assists with construction administration oversight, including submittal review, RFI responses and periodic site observations
May review work of others to check for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with clients’ specifications
Redlines production plans for correction prior to engineer design review
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish non-routine tasks
Cooperates and coordinates with other engineers, designers, and technicians on project activities
