They identify and diagnose complex application problems and factors affecting performance.
Sr. Systems Engineers function in a lead role for longer-term, larger-scale projects.
They develop technical standards and provide resolution for complex application problems.
Sr. Systems Engineers are seasoned, experienced associates who possess in-depth knowledge in software administration activities and demonstrate high-level skills with extensive proficiency.
They use best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products or services.
They function as a resource for colleagues with less experience and may direct the work of other staff members.
Collaborate closely with business, client teams, and clients to support the application and database platforms.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree and 3 years of related experience, or high school degree and 5 years of related experience.
At least 3-5 years of experience in software application administration and support required in UNIX and Windows environments.
2+ years of SQL experience
Experience with any of the following technologies is expected: Oracle, Postgres, DB2, MSSQL, MongoDB
Knowledge and understanding of network, hardware, and operating systems
Expertise in server/infrastructure management & automation
Working knowledge of business goals, IT standards, strategy and service level agreements
Strong oral and written communication; adjusting based upon audience
2-5 years of experience database administration.
Additional proficiency in Oracle is ideal
Understanding of database standards, best practices and procedures
Stored Procedure scripting
Database performance tuning experience
SQL Plan management
AWR analysis
Basic optimization
Knowledge of CDB and PDB DB architecture
Strong knowledge of multi-tiered/highly available application infrastructure
