About this role
Role Overview
Work closely in a multi-site environment with lawyers and other legal secretaries and participate in team meetings.
Draft, send, and manage the receipt and filing of lawyers' routine correspondence.
Enter and track periodic reminders for lawyers' files.
Prepare draft procedural documents, gather relevant documentation, and ensure deadlines are met for their filing.
Prepare and format court documents, such as trial books, exhibit books, or procedural binders.
Coordinate lawyers' calendars, particularly for examinations and trials (availability of parties and witnesses, booking rooms and court reporters).
Open files, ensure they are kept up to date, follow up on related billing, and close files.
Participate in various administrative tasks for the main office, such as purchasing office supplies and preparing authorizations.
Produce and compile various registers and reports.
Requirements
College diploma in Paralegal Studies or any combination of education and experience deemed equivalent.
2 years' experience in legal secretarial work in litigation.
Up-to-date knowledge of civil court procedures.
Proficiency in JurisEvolution (an asset).
Proficiency in French, both spoken and written, and advanced proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
