About this role
Role Overview
Provide strategic leadership for the organization’s grantmaking and community investment initiatives
Lead strategy development and cultivate cross-sector partnerships to drive measurable system-level impact
Oversee grantmaking and capacity-building initiatives to ensure alignment and measurable impact
Provide thought leadership in philanthropy, nonprofit capacity building, and systems change
Identify emerging needs and design innovative programs and initiatives
Guide development of training, workshops, and cohort-based learning programs
Ensure program quality and continuous improvement using data and evaluation
Supervise and develop team managers, fostering a high-performing culture
Build and maintain strategic cross-sector partnerships
Collaborate with internal departments to align organizational efforts
Represent the organization in external engagements and stakeholder forums
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree
Minimum 8 years of experience in philanthropy, grantmaking, nonprofit leadership, or community investment
Minimum 4 years of experience in program/project management or strategic planning
Minimum 4 years of supervisory or team leadership experience
Minimum 4 years of grants management experience from a funder perspective
Experience managing grant portfolios and large-scale initiatives
Preferred: Master’s degree in Public Health, Social Services, Business Administration, or related field
Preferred: Experience designing capacity-building initiatives
Preferred: Experience working across sectors (government, healthcare, academia, philanthropy)
Preferred: Demonstrated success advancing health equity and systems change
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs): Strategic leadership and systems thinking
Strong relationship-building and partnership development
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Program design, evaluation, and continuous improvement
Team leadership, coaching, and performance management
Organizational and project management skills
Equity-informed and community-centered approach
Language Skills: Fluent in English required; Spanish bilingual proficiency preferred
Ability to write reports and present information to diverse audiences
Technology and Tools: Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Virtual collaboration tools (Zoom, Microsoft Teams)
Online systems and grant/program management platforms
