Conduct thorough forensic investigations to determine the cause of damage for insurance claims or asset/building owners and prepare detailed causation reports and Scopes of Works.
Inspect and assess the condition of existing buildings and structures to determine the cause of damage.
Identifying design and construction defects with reference to code and damage causation.
Collecting data using photographic equipment.
Accurate and detailed recording of data whilst on-site.
Preparation of detailed computations for the repair of small to medium structures.
Delivering design documentation including drawings, specifications, and reports.
Providing construction-phase support on a wide array of projects.
Requirements
At least 10 years’ industry experience, with experience as a forensic engineer ideal.
Bachelor of Civil/Structural Engineering.
Member of Engineers Australia (MIEAust).
Chartered Engineer and/or Registered on the National Engineers Register (NER).
Interstate accreditations will be considered including Registered Building Practitioner, Victoria (RPEV) and Registered Professional Engineer, Queensland (RPEQ).
Proven experience with structural design software such as Spacegass, Structural Toolkit, etc.
Sound knowledge of the insurance industry (claims lifecycle) including the legislative framework, applicable codes and products.
