Role Overview
- Conduct thorough forensic investigations to determine the cause of damage for insurance claims or asset/building owners and prepare detailed causation reports and Scopes of Works.
- Inspect and assess the condition of existing buildings and structures to determine the cause of damage.
- Identifying design and construction defects with reference to code and damage causation.
- Collecting data using photographic equipment.
- Accurate and detailed recording of data whilst on-site.
- Preparation of detailed computations for the repair of small to medium structures.
- Delivering design documentation including drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Providing construction-phase support on a wide array of projects.
Requirements
- At least 10 years’ industry experience, with experience as a forensic engineer ideal.
- Bachelor of Civil/Structural Engineering.
- Member of Engineers Australia (MIEAust).
- Chartered Engineer and/or Registered on the National Engineers Register (NER).
- Interstate accreditations will be considered including Registered Building Practitioner, Victoria (RPEV) and Registered Professional Engineer, Queensland (RPEQ).
- Proven experience with structural design software such as Spacegass, Structural Toolkit, etc.
- Sound knowledge of the insurance industry (claims lifecycle) including the legislative framework, applicable codes and products.
