The Network Operations Associate is responsible for ordering and managing telecommunications circuits and trunks across our network operations workflow.
This includes working with T1, MUX, and DS3 (types of network circuits), Meet Points (connection points between carrier networks), and Trunks (the traffic channels built on top of a circuit to carry calls).
The role involves processing new, augment, downsize, and disconnect orders for trunking-only and combination orders, as well as new and disconnect orders for MUX and DS3 circuits.
The ideal candidate will utilize Incumbent Local Exchange Carrier's (ILEC) online portals.
They will also use Neustar (a third-party order management platform) for processing orders, checking statuses, managing rejects/resolution, clarifying error status (jeop) notifications, and obtaining accurate service order completions.
Strive for order accuracy, conduct follow up, and escalate with the service provider based on standard response intervals
Conduct research on historical data to verify clarifications based on current inventory
Foster relationships with ILECs and providers to successfully implement network changes in a timely manner
Work with the Testing team to resolve issues with trunk and transport orders
Assist with process documentation
Submit requests for SS7 (a protocol used to set up and manage calls across carrier networks) implementation and disconnect
Assist PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network — the traditional telephone network) customers to resolve issues with ordering and completion.
Requirements
Advanced english level
Attention to detail and ability to manage a high volume of orders with changing priorities
Ability to take ownership, determine next steps, and attempt resolution when issues arise
Comfortable working with deadlines, including proactive follow-ups and escalation when needed
Good decision-making and reasoning skills, particularly in operational or troubleshooting scenarios
Experience or aptitude for project coordination or project-management-type work
Good communication skills to work with carriers, vendors, customers, and internal teams
Telecommunications experience is a plus; candidates from network operations, technical support, or project-driven operational roles are encouraged to apply.
