Role Overview
- Develop forest management plans for infrastructure projects
- Coordinate or conduct forest inventories
- Perform photo-interpretation of forested areas
- Develop and implement monitoring programs for forested areas
- Prepare harvesting and planting plans
- Prepare permit applications for harvesting or planting projects
- Draft specifications and tender documents
- Supervise contractors in the execution of assignments
- Contribute to forest compensation projects
- Understand client objectives and applicable regulations
- Interact with clients and regulatory authorities
- Participate in environmental impact studies
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices in forest management
Requirements
- University degree in forestry engineering
- Member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs forestiers du Québec (Quebec Order of Forest Engineers)
- 5 to 10 years of experience in applied forest engineering
- Experience in forest inventories and photo-interpretation
- Strong knowledge of technical standards and best practices for harvesting and planting
- Good knowledge of environmental and forest management standards, regulations, and guidelines
- Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to excellence
- Proficiency in French and English
