Gather information concerning the capabilities of process control systems and investigate technical capabilities.
Analyze customer problems and assist in designing systems to satisfy customer needs.
Prepare equipment analysis to instruct customers in equipment capabilities.
Document, test, maintain, and debug applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
Determine computer user needs, analyze system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls of limited scope.
Prepare operating instructions on assigned work.
May conduct research and testing of electrical or mechanical hardware related to process controls.
Ensure reliability, develop technical specifications for production, analyze hardware configuration and processing solutions, and test hardware conformance to specifications based on well-defined processes.
Design new or modify existing products following specific detailed instructions.
Test, document, operate and maintain software and firmware components and computing systems software to be applied to and integrated with process controls mechanical and electrical systems.
Apply the appropriate standards, processes, procedures and tools throughout the system.
Review developments in hardware and software provided by higher level developers and/or managers.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
High school diploma, Associate's degree, Bachelor's degree in a non-Engineering discipline, or Bachelor's degree in an Engineering Technology
Process control system and instrumentation experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university (for Engineer position)
