Medical Director – Family or Emergency Medicine

Role Overview

• Administration of physical and/or behavioral health medical services
• Ensure appropriate and cost-effective medical care
• Develop and implement programs to improve quality, cost, and outcomes
• Provide clinical consultation and serve as advisory to enhance clinical operations
• Identify cost of care opportunities
• Serve as a resource to staff including Medical Director Associates
• Represent the company to external entities

Requirements

• Requires MD or DO
• Board certification by ABMS or AOA
• Active unrestricted medical license
• Minimum of 10 years of clinical experience
• For Health Solutions and Carelon: minimum of 5 years of experience providing health care
• 3-5 years of Utilization Management Review experience strongly preferred
• Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Problem-solving skills

• Analytical skills
