Perform all accounting activities for assigned captive insurance entities, including general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and customized financial and management reports.
Prepare and review monthly and quarterly financial statement packages in accordance with GAAP, SAP, and modified GAAP, as applicable.
Monitor cash activity, investment activity, and intercompany transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Prepare budgets, forecasts, and ad hoc financial analyses to support client and internal reporting needs.
Prepare and file regulatory submissions, including premium tax returns, NAIC Blank Forms, and other domicile-specific filings for captive insurance companies and Risk Retention Groups.
Serve as the primary accounting contact for regulatory matters across onshore and offshore domiciles.
Lead audit preparation and substantive review activities, including drafting and reviewing audit schedules, financial statements, and supporting documentation.
Act as a trusted advisor and primary accounting contact for assigned captive clients, including participation in client, shareholder, and Board of Director meetings as needed.
Utilize multiple accounting and reporting systems, including Acumatica, MAS 500, BizNet, Velixo, and Wings.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
Minimum of 5–10 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within captive insurance, insurance, or financial services.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and insurance accounting principles.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines with minimal supervision.
Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and client service skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and enterprise accounting systems.
Preferred: CPA designation
Experience with captive insurance companies and multiple regulatory domiciles.
