Own the commercial performance (sales, margin, penetration) of the private label assortment in assigned categories.
Identify category whitespace and defines the private label product roadmap based on customer needs, branded benchmarks, and competitor analysis.
Lead supplier sourcing, RFQs, and negotiations with private label manufacturers across Europe; manages tenders and contracts.
Drive end-to-end new product development: brief, sampling, quality benchmarking, formulation sign-off, packaging, pricing, and on-shelf launch.
Partner with Quality, Packaging, Design, and Regulatory teams to ensure product quality, compliance, and on-brand presentation.
Collaborate with branded Category Managers to position private label within the total category architecture (good/better/best, price ladder, range role).
Partner with Marketing and Supply Chain to plan launches, promotions, forecasting, and stock management for own-brand SKUs.
Manage the lifecycle of existing private label products: performance reviews, reformulations, cost engineering, range rationalisation, and delisting.
Provide input into the overall private label strategy, brand architecture, and Joint Business Plans led by the Director of Private Label.
Track market trends, customer feedback, and category KPIs to continuously improve the own-brand offer.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Food Technology, Marketing, or equivalent.
Minimum 3 years' experience in private label / own-brand development, category management, buying, or product development in FMCG, retail, or e-commerce.
Proven track record of launching and managing own-brand products end-to-end (sourcing, NPD, packaging, pricing, launch).
Strong negotiation and analytical skills; commercial acumen with full P&L understanding (cost build-up, margin, COGS).
Experience managing multiple suppliers/manufacturers and complex product portfolios in parallel.
Strong project management skills and ability to coordinate cross-functional teams under tight timelines.
Fluency in Czech/Slovak and B2 level in English.
