Ensure suppliers meet contractual/regulatory and internal quality standards for parts and materials.
Perform audits, analyze supplier processes and products.
Conduct root cause analysis for issues with parts, drive corrective actions, and reject/do a part stoppage if they arrive with defects.
Own supplier results, drive improvements utilizing supplier scorecards.
Own supplier audits, ensuring compliance, and driving improvement plans where needed.
Maintain the supplier rating system, which will define the total cost of ownership of products procured from suppliers.
Implement and maintain a supplier approval system that will qualify suppliers to do business with the company and meet varied purchase order requirements.
Manage the supplier corrective action system to identify and correct supplier problems in a timely manner.
Coordinate Supplier Manufacturing Readiness Reviews and manage Supplier Request for Variance (when applicable).
Conduct capability assessments that verify supplier qualifications, travel to assigned suppliers, and lead multiple projects to completion.
Act as primary interface between the company and suppliers in resolving technical problems and performing source control inspections.
Prepare and maintain reports such as supplier performance, survey results, specification compliance, corrective actions, etc.
Requirements
BS degree in related engineering field
5+ years’ work experience in Supplier Quality and Aerospace
Thorough understanding of AS9100/ISO 9000 regulations certification process
Broad knowledge of a general technical field such as electrical, mechanical, industrial engineering
Ability to travel up to 25 of the time to suppliers.
Qualified auditor to industry requirements for AS9100 and two or more special processes
Knowledge of NADCAP and other Special Processes applicable to client sites and suppliers.
Areas of preferred expertise are Heat Treat, Welding, Nonconventional Machining, Chemical Processing, and Surface Enhancement.
Strong computer skills with high level proficiency in Microsoft Office tools such as Excel and PowerPoint as well as comfortability working with virtual communication and meeting tools such as Teams or similar.
Experience with project management and facilitation.
