About this role
Role Overview
Lead and maintain relationships with core clients and external audiences and partners
Drive all aspects of planning and execution of client projects, ensuring timeliness, efficiency and high-quality delivery of results
Serve as strategic counsel lead for client engagements based on broad communications landscape and business goals; takes immediate action on client feedback
Respond to client concerns with thoughtful strategic guidance
Manage financial performance for client engagements (i.e., client budgets, team capacity, planning and vendor management)
Serve as facilitator for client workshops and events, including speaker training sessions, multi-stakeholder convening initiatives, internal messaging workshops, etc
Take an active role in developing staffing plans for core businesses
Support development and presentation of new business proposals from start to finish; present during new business pitches with confidence
Identify opportunities for organic account growth
Demonstrate initiative and resourcefulness to work through issues independently
Provide direct and constructive feedback to junior team members, supporting them in developing fundamental skill sets (writing, research, logistics, etc.)
Encourage regular feedback from manager and team members
Partner effectively with agency leads for earned and social media, digital and creative to deliver integrated programming recommendations for clients
Guide strategy for assigned business and teach others
Conduct staff annual reviews and regular check-ins, overseeing professional development and opportunities for growth and advancement
Role model company values and inspires an inclusive culture
Provide thoughtful editorial guidance to account team and ensuring overall quality in all outputs
Hone presentation skills and can coach other team members to further develop their skills accordingly
Proactively drive agency recommendations and idea generation
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, business or health / science related field or equivalent experience
8+ years' communications or related marketing / advocacy / health experience; corporate or executive communications experience preferred
Proven managerial acumen
Ability to assemble and motivate well integrated teams to drive client businesses
A leadership presence
Superb internal and external communications skills (verbal, written, listening)
Attitude that lends itself to quality client service
Experience with media relations strategy and social media landscape
Proactive, entrepreneurial, and solution-oriented mindset
Passion about improving lives through innovations in health
