Provide advice and counsel to business leaders on legal, regulatory, legislative, compliance, and business issues
Draft, negotiate, review, and interpret various contracts and other legal documents between Ascensus and its clients, partners, vendors, and other third parties
Manage and resolve disputes, including overseeing outside counsel
Handle other day-to-day legal issues arising in a growing and complex business including employment, intellectual property, and corporate governance
Responsible for protecting, securing, and proper handling of all confidential data held by Ascensus
Requirements
Juris Doctorate from an accredited U.S. law school with at least 15 years of experience
Licensed to practice law in at least one state and in good standing
Experience in the financial services and familiarity with ERISA and U.S. data privacy laws is strongly preferred
Law firm (preferably transactional practice) and in-house experience is a plus
Desire to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment
Ability to travel occasionally is required
