Serve as the primary finance partner to the Business Development leader and related executive stakeholders on major strategic transactions
Support BD operating mechanisms on finance matters (e.g., deal approvals, investment committee reviews, deal memos, executive and Board materials)
Champion standard work, lean principles, and best-practice tools to drive consistency and rigor across all BD Finance activities
Lead end-to-end financial support for acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, strategic alliances, and other complex commercial transactions
Build and/or review financial rationale for deals; challenge and refine financial models and key assumptions
Support valuation, financial modeling, scenario and sensitivity analysis, and return‑on‑investment (ROI) assessments
Develop and challenge business cases to ensure robust assumptions, risk‑adjusted returns, and alignment with strategic goals
Oversee finance workstreams across active deals, ensuring high‑quality, timely analysis and clear recommendations
Partner with Corporate Development, Legal, Tax, Operations, and Business Units on deal structuring, bidding strategies, and negotiation support
Oversee financial due diligence and coordinate with internal teams and external advisors where appropriate
Lead post‑close finance activities, including purchase price adjustments, earn‑out calculations, working capital true‑ups, and resolution of price-related disputes
Partner with Business Units, Integration Management Offices (IMOs), and functional leaders to ensure financial accountability for integration plans and synergy delivery
Lead and develop a high‑performing Business Development Finance team; attract, coach, and retain top finance talent
Foster a culture of analytical rigor, strategic thinking, and cross‑functional collaboration
Promote best practices, tools, and methodologies for deal evaluation and strategic financial analysis across the finance organization
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leaders, advisors, and potential partners
Represent Finance in key strategic forums, steering committees, and deal governance processes
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field required
MBA, CFA, or equivalent advanced degree strongly preferred
12–15+ years of progressive finance experience, including significant exposure to corporate M&A, investment banking, private equity, or transaction advisory
Proven track record leading large, complex transactions from evaluation through execution and post‑close value realization
Experience operating at the executive level within a global, matrixed organization
Deep expertise in financial modeling, valuation techniques (DCF, trading and transaction comps, precedent transactions), and scenario/sensitivity analysis
Strong understanding of deal structures, financing alternatives, and key value drivers in strategic transactions
Solid knowledge of accounting, financial reporting, and corporate finance principles
Strong commercial acumen on finance topics and an ability to connect legal, commercial, and financial considerations on key business matters and transactions.
