Serve as an internal and external technical authority for one or more core I&C technology areas
Lead the most complex control system hardware, panel, instrumentation, and industrial network scopes assigned to the team
Support definition of engineering standards, design approaches, calculation methods, and review expectations that are adopted by the broader I&C Engineering group
Act as the escalation point for difficult design issues, field problems, vendor questions, and commissioning defects
Review work prepared by junior roles and provide clear technical direction
Mentor engineers in hardware design, field troubleshooting, customer communication, and technical decision making
Own design packages for DCS and PLC control system hardware, including controllers, redundant remote I/O, communication interfaces, gateways, redundancy schemes, and power distribution
Produce and review UL 508A panel designs and troubleshoot industrial communication networks
Lead engineering execution from design basis through turnover
Coordinate with panel fabrication subcontractors while retaining Stellix ownership of the design, HFAT, commissioning support, and turnover package
Support sales and project development for complex opportunities through FEED studies, site walkdowns, scope definition, hours estimates, BOM generation, compliance tables, and proposal write-ups
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related experience
8+ years of I&C, controls, electrical, automation, or process instrumentation engineering experience
2 to 4+ years in a senior, lead, or technical owner capacity
SME level knowledge in controls theory and advanced working knowledge of control system hardware, UL 508A panel design, instrumentation, and industrial networks
Proven ability to lead large, complex engineering scopes from early definition through turnover
Strong written and verbal communication with customers, vendors, and internal teams
Ability to travel 30 to 50%, primarily within New England
Preferred Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
Professional Engineer license or active path toward licensure
Deep experience in cGMP, validated, pharmaceutical, biopharma, or life sciences environments
Experience developing engineering standards, templates, design guides, or review methods used by other engineers
Strong background with HFAT, commissioning, troubleshooting, and project closeout.
