Assess, plan, organize, and participate in rehabilitative programs that improve mobility, relieve pain, increase strength, and decrease or prevent deformity of patients suffering from disease or injury.
Educate the patient and/or family and caregivers on how to prevent further injury or impairment.
Perform appropriate assessment on patients related to therapy requested, with reassessment and documentation on progress toward goals.
Plan, organize, and conduct occupational therapy programs in health system or community settings to rehabilitate those impaired because of illness, injury, psychological or developmental problems.
Assess and evaluate patients' physical and mental abilities and analyze medical data to determine rehabilitation goals.
Observe and evaluate treatment effect and make recommendations to patient providers as needed.
Ensure patient charges are accurate and entered timely per treatment documentation completed.
Formulate a teaching plan based on identified learning needs and evaluate effectiveness of learning.
Demonstrate knowledge of occupational therapy modalities, rehab equipment, and medical-surgical equipment.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS)
Graduate of an accredited school of Occupational Therapy
New graduates are encouraged to apply.
1-3 years Health care experience.
