Serve as lead Salesforce architect on Patient Services engagements, owning end-to-end solution design across Salesforce Health Cloud and Life Sciences Cloud (Patient Services), with extension into Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Data Cloud / Data 360, and MuleSoft as needed
Design and validate solution architecture for Patient Services use cases, including patient enrollment and onboarding, benefits verification, prior authorization, copay and financial assistance, hub case management, adherence and refill, field reimbursement, nurse case management, and patient/caregiver engagement
Own data model design across Health Cloud and Life Sciences Cloud Patient Services objects (Care Programs, Care Program Enrollees, Care Program Products, Care Plans, Care Requests, etc.), ensuring scalable, extensible, and platform-aligned implementations
Design security, sharing, and PHI handling architecture, including role hierarchy, sharing rules, restriction rules, field-level security, encryption, and audit logging appropriate for HIPAA and regulated patient data
Architect integrations across the Patient Services ecosystem, including specialty pharmacy, hub vendors, EHR/EMR, payer and clearinghouse, benefits verification, copay vendors, and patient-facing channels (SMS, email, portal, IVR)
Design HCP and patient portal experiences on Experience Cloud, including authentication, authorization, identity, and patient/caregiver delegation patterns
Provide hands-on technical leadership across configuration, Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flow, and integration design reviewing code, design artifacts, and platform decisions to ensure quality and scalability
Lead technical discovery and architecture workshops with client stakeholders across patient services operations, IT, security, and compliance
Translate business and clinical requirements into pragmatic, validated solution designs, balancing platform best practice with delivery realities
Author solution architecture documentation, including data model diagrams, integration architecture, security model, environment strategy, and architecture decision records (ADRs)
Partner with BAs, developers, QA, and validation leads to ensure solution designs are buildable, testable, and (where applicable) validatable under GxP and 21 CFR Part 11 considerations
Mentor developers, junior architects, and BAs on Health Cloud, Life Sciences Cloud, and Patient Services patterns, including design reviews, code reviews, and technical coaching
Support presales and solutioning for Patient Services pursuits, including level-of-effort estimation, SOW input, response to RFx, and client architecture presentations
Stay current on the Salesforce HLS roadmap (Life Sciences Cloud, Health Cloud, Agentforce for HLS, Data Cloud) and translate platform direction into recommendations for clients and internal Slipstream investment
Contribute to Slipstreams Patient Services accelerators, reference architectures, and reusable assets to improve delivery speed and quality across engagements
Requirements
8+ years of Salesforce ecosystem experience, including 4+ years in a hands-on Salesforce architect role
Required pharma, biotech, healthcare, or life sciences industry experience, with direct delivery experience on Patient Services, Patient Support Programs (PSPs), or Hub Services use cases
Required hands-on architectural experience with Salesforce Health Cloud and Salesforce Life Sciences Cloud (Patient Services), including data model, security model, and integration design
Required Salesforce architect certification: Application Architect or System Architect (or active CTA pursuit). Component certifications such as Data Architect, Sharing & Visibility Architect, Integration Architect, or Identity & Access Management Architect are accepted toward this track
Required Salesforce Platform Developer II (Sr. Developer) certification
Strong hands-on technical experience with Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flow, Platform Events, and integration patterns (REST, SOAP, Platform Events, Streaming, Bulk)
Strong experience designing integrations across Salesforce, MuleSoft (or comparable iPaaS), EHR/EMR, specialty pharmacy, hub vendors, payer/clearinghouse, and patient-facing channels
Strong understanding of PHI, HIPAA, consent, and regulated delivery practices, including documentation quality, traceability, and change control
Strong experience designing Experience Cloud (formerly Community Cloud) portals, including authentication, identity, sharing, and delegated access patterns
Experience leading client-facing technical workstreams, including running architecture workshops, presenting to executive stakeholders, and managing technical scope and risk
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex technical decisions for business and clinical stakeholders.
