Help define the overall strategy, test approach, and quality bar for localization testing across Product, MX, Marketing, and E‑commerce.
Translate feature roadmaps into concrete testing plans by release, language set, and surface (app, web, email, help center, campaigns, etc.).
Plan testing rounds with the rest of the Globalization team based on upcoming releases.
Own the centralized localization testing calendar and priorities across Product, MX, Marketing, and E‑commerce.
Create and maintain reusable test plans, cases, and checklists for localization and internationalization testing (L10n/i18n), including regression suites.
Ensure adequate coverage for UI layouts, copy, truncation/wrapping, RTL behavior, date/number formats, currencies, and platform‑specific constraints.
Plan, schedule, and coordinate testing rounds with Globalization PMs, QA and external test vendors.
Monitor execution, clarify scenarios, unblock testers, and ensure all agreed test scope is completed on time.
Create, triage, and manage localization and internationalization bugs in Jira, including clear reproduction steps, screenshots, severities, and language tags.
Partner with engineering, design, MX, and Growth to drive issues to resolution and verify fixes before release.
Identify, log, and help resolve linguistic issues across app, web, marketing, and MX content (including terminology, tone, and locale conventions).
Collaborate with Globalization PMs and testers to align on severity, risk, and go/no‑go criteria for each release.
Create and maintain testing playbooks, runbooks, templates, and reporting formats for all Globalization programs.
Continuously improve workflows (entry/exit criteria, severity models, communication patterns) to make testing more predictable and scalable.
Work with Globalization PMs, QA, engineering to improve testability of localized features, including pseudo‑localization, test data, and automation hooks.
Provide requirements and feedback on tooling to improve coverage, observability, and efficiency.
Provide clear, structured updates and data points on testing status, risks, and readiness to Globalization and cross‑functional stakeholders.
Synthesize recurring issues into actionable insights (e.g., patterns by language, component, or program) to inform future design and development.
Define and track key testing metrics (e.g., defect density, coverage, cycle time) to continuously improve localization quality and efficiency.
Requirements
3+ years in localization QA / LQA / software testing for consumer apps or digital products.
Strong understanding of software localization and internationalization (keys, resource files, platforms, constraints, build pipelines) and hands‑on experience testing mobile apps (iOS/Android) and web across multiple locales and scripts.
Language testing knowledge.
Proven experience designing and executing localization/i18n test plans and cases, and managing bugs with Jira (or similar), including severity/priority models and release‑driven workflows.
Comfortable working with localization platforms/TMS (e.g., Phrase or similar) and test management tools.
Excellent communication skills; able to explain localization and layout issues clearly to engineers, designers, QA and non‑linguists.
Experience collaborating with external LQA vendors, freelance linguists, and internal QA teams, and coordinating testing with multiple teams and time zones.
A structured, analytical approach to testing with a strong eye for detail and consistency across languages and surfaces.
Comfortable in a fast‑paced environment with evolving requirements, with a proactive, ownership‑driven mindset focused on building repeatable processes, not just one‑off tests.
Experience with RTL and non‑Latin languages (Arabic, Hebrew, Japanese, Korean, Chinese) and/or complex scripts.
Background in health, wellness, or regulated content domains, and exposure to AI‑assisted localization or QA workflows.
