Evaluate a high volume of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and TDS (Technical Data Sheets) provided by customers for regulatory compliance and PPE safety requirements
Write chemical cleaning and heating procedures for new chemicals
Perform Hazardous Waste Determinations and develop disposal guidance for each new chemical
Use knowledge of chemistry and hazardous materials to ensure wastes are handled in safe and compliant manner
Conduct regulatory research, prepare technical interpretations, and make recommendations based on operational requests and activities
Support company sites as main point of contact for analytical laboratory services
Participate in chemical and safety reviews of potential waste opportunities
Maintain and update DCIs chemical inventory within its EMS
Work on projects such as: submitting local, State or federal level reports; developing chemical lists to assist with permits; update service plans and content groups in the EMS, as needed.
Requirements
BS in chemistry, or related degree
Advanced degree a plus
Minimum 5+ years of professional experience undertaking chemistry and hazardous waste-related activities
Demonstrated understanding of the connection between chemistry and hazardous waste management
Capacity to succeed in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple project assignments, and meeting deadlines
Excellent communication skills
Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow complex requests
Knowledge of federal, State, and local environmental laws, regulations, and standards
Must collaborate well, both internally and externally, including regulatory agencies
Must be able to travel as business needs dictate.
