Trade Compliance Lead

Role Overview

• Lead the development, implementation and management of processes, tools and trainings relating to export compliance.
• Ensure legal compliance and provide export support within government rules and regulations.
• Develop, implement, enhance and maintain trade compliance management systems, policies, and department procedures and work instructions.
• Serve as a Spanish and US export regulations expert and provide guidance related to export control compliance requirements.
• Implement standard practices and training programs that align with corporate trade compliance program requirements.
• Support trade compliance internal and external audits.
• Coordinate with customs team and guide business with various customs related issues.

Requirements

• Knowledge of Spanish, EU & US Export Laws and Regulations.
• Strong Computer Skills: SAP (GTS module), Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
• SharePoint experience beneficial.
• Proven direct experience with International Trade Regulations and/or Compliance.
• Bachelor's degree in business or related field (or combination of education and experience).
• Strong leadership skills required.
• Previous program/project management experience highly desired.
• Previous experience in a similar capacity for a high tech/defence /aerospace firm with large shipment volume and licensing.
• Expertise in end-use/end-user assurance requirements and procedures in various national jurisdictions, including the EU and the United States.
• Extensive experience dealing with Spanish military and EU Dual Use products and multilateral control regimes.
• Knowledge of customs requirements including HS classification, valuation, country of origin requirements and carnets.
