About this role
Role Overview
Helping Members Understand Their Benefits
Answer incoming calls and respond to benefit questions with clarity and compassion
Explain medical, dental, vision, pharmacy, life, disability, FSAs/HSAs, and other plans in easy-to-understand terms
Supporting members as they choose benefits during open enrollment
Comparing and contrasting plan options so members feel confident in their selections
Discussing Marketplace/exchange plans, COBRA, Medicare, and individual plans
Researching benefit concerns thoroughly and following through until resolved
Documenting all cases accurately while maintaining strict confidentiality
Ensuring compliance with HIPAA, COBRA, ACA, and all federal regulations
Building trust quickly over the phone and providing objective, empathetic guidance
Requirements
Minimum 1–2 years of customer service and benefits experience
Minimum of 1 year of call center experience, preferably in a healthcare, insurance, or benefits environment
Minimum of 1 year of hands-on Medicare knowledge, including Medicare Advantage, Part A/B/D, and supplement plans
Comfortable using MS Word, Excel, and internal systems
Strong documentation, accuracy, and time-management skills
