Role Overview
- Design and execute underwriting strategies that drive profitable growth while ensuring strong, risk-adjusted returns.
- Establish and oversee underwriting guidelines, pricing models, and risk selection standards to ensure consistency and sound decision-making.
- Monitor and evaluate portfolio performance, underwriting KPIs, and loss trends to identify opportunities for improvement and optimize results.
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of commercial underwriters, ensuring alignment with company goals and fostering professional growth.
- Conduct quarterly quality assurance audits, assess underwriting accuracy and compliance, and present actionable insights to senior leadership.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience as an Underwriter in the commercial insurance space.
- 5+ years of experience handling coastal catastrophe risks.
- 2+ years of experience leading a team of underwriters.
- Strong knowledge of commercial lines of business.
- Previous experience working as an Underwriter for an MGA or carrier.
- Proven ability to lead high-performing teams and drive strategic initiatives.
- Producer license preferred, but not required.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
- Reliable high-speed internet connectivity required.
- Designated quiet work from home space.
