About this role
Role Overview
Lead abstraction licence compliance monitoring, including daily checks and compliance investigations.
Ensure accuracy and integrity of all abstraction licence and monitoring datasets.
Produce high-quality regulatory submissions, including abstraction returns and self-reporting.
Become the go-to technical expert on abstraction licensing and compliance, working closely with operational teams, analysts, and regulator.
Manage abstraction licence applications, renewals, variations, transfers, and revocations.
Oversee abstraction licence financials, including annual fees, charges, and derogation payments.
Support enhanced modelling and analysis for high-risk (“hot”) licence reviews.
Maintain accurate corporate records of all licence conditions and changes.
Work collaboratively with external bodies, including the Environment Agency and technical consultants.
Requirements
Strong experience working with large datasets, data analysis, and reporting
Confidence interpreting regulatory, legal, and licence documentation
Experience managing regulatory submissions and compliance processes
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail
Confidence and experience in owning large and complex financial processes and budget oversight
Experience using telemetry systems (Desirable)
Experience in water resource management or environmental assessment (Desirable).
