About this role
Role Overview
Identify, assess, and monitor strategic, operational, and regulatory risks.
Provide expert advice to executives on risk exposures, emerging risks, and mitigation strategies.
Develop and maintain risk reporting, dashboards, and insights for senior leadership and board committees.
Oversee the compliance framework, ensuring alignment with relevant legislation, regulations, standards, and internal policies.
Manage regulatory obligations, including monitoring, breach assessments, remediation activities, and external reporting.
Lead compliance reviews, policy development, and control improvements.
Monitor regulatory change and ensure timely implementation across impacted business areas.
Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring appropriate responses and closure of findings.
Lead incident and issue management processes, including root‑cause analysis and action tracking.
Strengthen governance processes, risk appetite alignment, and organisational accountability.
Influence and support senior leaders to embed risk management and compliance into business decision‑making and reporting.
Deliver training and communication to uplift awareness across the organisation.
Represent the function in executive forums, working groups, within the Line 2 risk team, and with regulatory engagement.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Law or related field.
10 years plus of experience as a Risk or Compliance professional in the Financial Services industry.
Knowledge and understanding of our industry’s regulations (ATO, SMSF and ASIC).
Working knowledge of ISO 31000 Risk Management Framework.
Experience in Digital Service Provider (DSP) Operational Security Framework desirable.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly innovative environment.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to translate complex issues into clear actions.
Demonstrated ability to engage with executives, influence decisions, and provide authoritative advice.
Proactive, organised, and able to manage competing priorities.
Confident in managing ambiguity and driving change.
Strong research, presentation and reporting capabilities.
