The Portfolio Manager is responsible for presales engagement, solution design, and delivery for Vodafone Business customer solutions.
This role primarily supports customer headquarters in Southeast Asia and Australasia, addressing demand for global products and multinational deployments.
It encompasses end-to-end accountability for achieving successful business outcomes in line with defined contractual requirements and deliverables.
This is a critical leadership role and is fundamental to the success of Vodafone Business in delivering and operating end-to-end solutions for our largest, strategic, multinational customers.
Starting in the pre-sales phase it is the single interface between Vodafone Business and Vodafone Business Technology Solutions for customer opportunities ensuring that what we consult and sell, can be delivered and operated.
Customer requirements are clear and translated into a solution design, all risks are known & documented with regular and standardized status updates provided back to Vodafone Business & its customers.
During the sales engagement, the regional lead will be accountable for ensuring that VBTS input is provided into the Sales, Product and commercial strategy on specific deals/Verticals(e.g. Finance, Energy, Manufacturing and Logistics, etc ).
The regional lead will be accountable for ensuring that customer opportunities are signed-on (during the EDRA process) based on agreed criteria within VBTS.
During the Sell phase and Build phase, the regional lead will have strong stakeholder relationships with the Customer, Sales, Finance, Legal, and Commercial, Supply Chain, Product, LOB and VBTS functions.
Once in the delivery phase the project teams will then evolve to take on the responsibility for design and project implementation.
The regional lead will then lead all aspects of portfolio delivery encompassing ~5 projects and programmes, a team of ~10 Project and Programme Managers, virtual team of ~10 Design resources with a TCV in excess of £50m.
Transforming service delivery for Vodafone business customers, the solutions will often be technically complex and often non-standard.
The regional lead will be accountable for managing; project budgets, deliverables, milestones and timescales for the portfolio to ensure all contractual obligations are met and ensure profitability for Vodafone business.
Ensuring all projects are aligned to Vodafone governance and reporting.
Accountable for customer governance, escalation, stakeholder management in Pre-sales, design, delivery, engineering & operations (where applicable).
Accountable for resolving issues in processes, tools and ways of working which impact customers deliverables.
Drive requirements & prioritisation for product enhancements, process, tools and capability enhancements, which affect customers.
The regional lead will manage project teams scaled depending on customer demand. They will be accountable for developing and maintaining relationships with the key stakeholders, third parties and other external bodies to ensure a positive outcome and be responsible for the performance of the design and delivery.
Requirements
Extensive Programme Management skills and experience (15+ years)
Extensive experience in Product and design understanding and impacts to delivery and operations.
Successful record of accomplishment of Programme/Project Managing complex international inter-company initiatives.
Management of multiple stakeholders, with a range of cultural backgrounds.
Ability to manage from a distance, resources who work for other organisations.
Excellent communications skills and established team player with well-developed influence and relationship management skills.
Strong ability to manage complexity in a highly matrixed global organisation.
Proven leadership experience with a track record of managing global teams of 50+
Demonstrable experience of relationships at C-Levels within the Client Organization
Educated to technical degree/masters level.
Project Management qualification (equivalent Prince 2 Practitioner or PMP)
Programme Management qualification (MSP) and Service Management qualified (ITIL Foundation and/or Practitioner) advantageous for position.
Fluent English written and spoken, multi-lingual skills preferable.
Strong exposure to commercial management and contractual negotiation experience.
Design and architecture experience and industry awareness (e.g market trends on Products and customer demand).
