Code daily alongside the team: this is a hands-on role
Define and role model the company software engineering culture and rituals
Lead code reviews, technical decisions, and engineering standards
Drive the team's evolution toward AI-native development
not just using AI tools, but fundamentally rethinking how we design, build, and ship software
Recruit, mentor and elevate newly joining team members over the coming years
Partner closely with the CPTO and Growth team on roadmap and architecture trade-offs
Work on the transition to medical SaMD processes together with our regulatory specialist, and take ownership of GDPR and similar compliance areas.
Requirements
Strong full-stack background with genuine technical depth
Familiarity with common frontend and backend technologies, like React, Nuxt, Vue, Tailwind, Python, PostgreSQL, TypeScript, AWS
An AI-native development mindset: you have already fundamentally changed how you code because of AI, and you are eager to push the whole team in that direction
A hands-on mindset
Natural technical authority. People follow your lead not because of your title, but because you are consistently sharp and direct
Startup instinct: comfortable with ambiguity, fast iteration, and wearing more than one hat
Experience leading an engineering team
For applicants who want to work at our Winterthur office: Swiss work permit or Swiss/EU/EFTA citizenship is a must
For applicants who want to work at our London office: You must already have the right to work in the UK (British/Irish passport, Settled Status, or other valid work visa), or currently hold a Skilled Worker visa with another employer (transfer possible). We are not able to sponsor new Skilled Worker visas from abroad at this stage.
