Identify and develop relationships with national and regional medical and scientific KOLs consistent with the strategy and objectives of Medical Affairs and overall Ipsen strategies
Engage in scientific exchange and education about current and emerging therapies in a compliant manner with KOLs (including advisory boards, individual meetings, and congresses)
Develop and maintain scientific, clinical, and therapeutic expertise in the area of Rare Diseases
Represent the company at continuing medical education events, programs, medical meetings, and scientific conferences
Collaborate with clinical development as requested to identify and engage appropriate sites for Ipsen trials and to identify disease concepts that can be leveraged into product differentiation
Differentiate Ipsen as the scientific partner of choice through innovative initiatives, coordinated strategy, and clear scientific communication
Provide scientific, clinical, and educational support for internal cross-functional stakeholders (including other members of the MSL team)
Support medical publications as needed (abstracts, manuscripts, etc.)
Support commercial operations by participating in Speaker and Representative Training
Lead or participate in special project teams as necessary
Support cross-functional teams to ensure operations remain patient-focused, including responding promptly to internal and external requests to discuss specific situations and challenges and providing medical affairs support to all stakeholders
Requirements
Advanced scientific, healthcare, or medical degree required (PharmD, PhD, MD)
Clinical or research career background (hospital and/or hospital-related, university research, pharmaceutical industry research, or medical affairs)
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an MSL or related role
Proven track record as an MSL or medical department professional in a prior company
Experience delivering scientific presentations and developing relationships with national/international Thought Leaders
Previous and recent experience in Rare Diseases / Hepatology (liver) is an advantage
Demonstrated ability to synthesize and communicate medical information clearly
Knowledge of data analysis and statistics, as well as legal, regulatory, and compliance guidelines
Team player with a solution-oriented approach and strong communication skills
Ability to travel approximately 60–80% (depending on geographic scope)
Business fluent in German and English
