The Senior Accountant will be an integral member on the accounting team to meet all aspects of the legal entity’s financial reporting (internal and external).
This position will concentrate on timely and accurate processing of accounting activities based on US GaaP, to include but not limited to, preparing, maintaining, analyzing, verifying and reconciling of various financial transactions, accounts, statements, records and reports.
The Senior Accountant will play a significant role in the month-end closing process, audits, SOX compliance and various related tasks.
The role will also include close collaboration and business partnering with the commercial team to ensure ongoing open communication and smooth transition of any changing business processes.
Responsible for the timely preparation of monthly financial statements, analyses and reports including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations.
Performs aspects of monthly financial close.
Assists with the preparation of special reports as required by management-local, corporate or other functions.
Reviews assigned components of the monthly balance sheet, income statement and supporting schedules and accounts to ensure financial accuracy and when necessary, prepare correcting entries to ensure integrity of reported data.
Assists in completing financial queries\information requests from internal management and from internal \ external auditors.
Performs US GaaP research and analysis of significant accounting transactions.
Completion and submission of year-end reporting packages.
Completion and submission of required SOX testing, remediation activity and documentation requirements into Audit Board.
Supports and collaborates with various FP&A personnel as required including but not limited to forecast as it relates to accounting activities including accruals, account mapping and data analysis.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or other related discipline
Graduate degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related discipline, preferred.
Professional certification in accounting (CPA) or (CMA), preferred.
Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in related functions.
Experience in medical reimbursement environment helpful (Medicare, Medicaid, Private Insurance, Individual Pay).
Experience in E-Commerce environment helpful. ie. Shopify.
Strong financial and operational acumen
Strong technical accounting knowledge.
Proven ability to effectively collaborate across functional disciplines and geographies.
Fundamental knowledge and experience in design and analysis of business processes and systems.
Strong analytic skills and experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as M3 or SAP.
Experience with Hyperion suite of products a plus
Strong problem-solving and logical thinking skills with a proactive and pragmatic approach to solving and correcting problems collaboratively.
