About this role
Role Overview
Lead delivery of corporate and share valuations across a range of scenarios, from lower-value, high-volume matters through to complex, court-adjacent assignments
Act as the senior technical authority on contentious valuations, including shareholder disputes, Single Joint Expert (SJE) appointments, and instructions received from solicitors and barristers
Deliver corporate, asset, business and IP valuations, applying appropriate methodology and exercising sound technical judgement across varying levels of complexity
Manage and review the work of junior and peer-level colleagues, including an existing Advisory Manager and fractional audit resource, maintaining quality and consistency across all engagements
Draft clear, well-reasoned valuation reports suitable for a range of audiences, including legal professionals and the courts where required
Assist with substantiating auditors’ work on valuations of assets on the balance sheet of audited entities, in accordance with FRS 102 and IFRS
Develop and maintain strong relationships with professional intermediaries, particularly lawyers, to generate and sustain a pipeline of referral work
Contribute to firm-led business development activity, including attending introducer meetings, supporting Partners on pitches, and representing the valuations offering at external events
Take ownership of engagements from inception through to completion, operating with commercial awareness and autonomy throughout
Line Manage employees where relevant, managing performance reviews and quarterly check in’s
Promote high performance, collaboration and continuous learning.
Requirements
ACA, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification
Minimum of three years’ experience in a dedicated valuations or transactions team, with meaningful exposure to contentious valuation work
Proven ability to operate with ownership and autonomy on engagements, rather than as one contributor within a large, heavily resourced team
Experience of reporting directly to a Director or Partner, with demonstrable readiness to step into a senior leadership position
Track record of, or strong appetite for, building and maintaining relationships with professional introducers, particularly within the legal community
London-based, or able to commit to a high and consistent level of in-person presence in London to support Partner activity, business development and client meetings
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, to clearly articulate complex valuation analysis to clients, legal professionals, and other audiences
Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
A background in audit or forensic audit is desirable, as some engagements will include investigatory project work alongside transactional activity.
