Monitor pipeline data to ensure adequate gas flow across the province
Control the flow of gas in pipeline systems to ensure safe and efficient operating conditions
Analyze current weather forecasts and historical data for daily gas requirements
Produce various reports for distribution to management and other departments
Coordinate and analyze field procedures for pipeline construction, maintenance, and repairs
Maintain liaison with field personnel and other departments for coordination
Design and maintain computer applications for Gas Control accounting and reporting
Evaluate current demand and adjust storage supply as necessary
Requirements
Diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution in a directly related field
Completion of a Red Seal Journeyman Trade in a related field
5 years directly related experience in Control Room, Pipeline Operations, Plant Operations, Field Instrumentation, Pipeline Hydraulics Planning, Design Engineering
Ability to pass Operator Qualification Training internal certification
Working knowledge of computer systems operations, environment and peripherals
Mechanical aptitude and knowledge in pipeline hydraulics, gas processes, pipeline operations, field equipment, compression and control systems, and thermodynamics
Written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and work under pressure in a high-stress environment
