Own power electronics architecture and design decisions across CellSwitch™ applications for AI data centres, including conversion topology, operational dynamics, protection and control interfaces
Provide expert technical leadership in resonant power conversion, control, thermal management, EMI/EMC, insulation, fault management, safety and reliability
Prioritise, schedule and drive activities through TRL stage gates, keeping the team focused on the highest-value technical and commercial outcomes
Guide hands-on design, simulation, prototyping, testing, debugging and performance evaluation of systems, subsystems and critical components
Work with internal and external stakeholders to turn market opportunities and customer needs into clear technical requirements and product direction
Identify and manage technical risks across safety, reliability, manufacturability, schedule, cost, standards compliance and performance
Oversee R&D facility operations as needed to service AI compute development, including lab capability, equipment readiness, safe test practices, maintenance and future orientation
Own and evolve Relectrify's technical roadmap for AI compute markets, aligned with our broader technology and commercial strategy
Continuously read market shifts in AI compute power infrastructure and translate them into roadmap priorities and business strategy recommendations
Recruit, develop and retain the team, establishing effective engineering practices, design reviews, test discipline and a clear decision-making cadence
Establish scalable R&D facility operations and lab practices that support safe, efficient and repeatable development, validation and demonstration
Contribute to our intellectual property portfolio through invention disclosures and strategic patent recommendations
Support customer, partner and investor engagement with credible technical summaries, presentations, demonstrations and due diligence responses
Create a clear path from R&D outcomes to productisation, covering manufacturability, supplier engagement, qualification planning and handover to downstream teams
Requirements
Masters or PhD in electrical/electronic engineering, power electronics or a closely related discipline
10+ years' industry experience in power electronics, including significant ownership of complex converter, inverter, battery storage or grid-connected power systems
A track record of building, leading and growing engineering teams in a high-growth or technically novel environment
Expert knowledge of resonant power electronics design: topology selection, modelling, magnetics design, control, protection, thermal design, insulation coordination and EMI/EMC management
Experience taking technology from R&D or advanced engineering through prototype, validation, customer demonstration and productisation
Experience identifying future customer needs and translating market insight into technical roadmap and business strategy recommendations
Experience overseeing laboratory, test or R&D facility operations, including equipment readiness, safety, scheduling and capability development
Strong systems thinking across batteries, power conversion, controls, communications, safety, reliability and manufacturability
Demonstrated contribution to technology strategy, business planning, customer engagement and/or fundraising due diligence
Experience contributing to or managing patent portfolios and invention disclosure processes
Desirable: Experience with data centre, UPS, grid-interactive, energy storage or high-availability power infrastructure applications
Familiarity with relevant standards and certification pathways for power electronics, energy storage and critical power systems.
