Developing and maintaining environmental product compliance policies, processes and governance frameworks to support global regulatory compliance.
Analysing compliance obligations, risks and potential solutions through detailed cost-benefit assessments and recommending effective business strategies.
Acting as the primary subject matter expert for environmental product compliance matters across Avnet.
Providing guidance and consultation to internal teams, suppliers and customers on environmental compliance requirements and best practices.
Creating and delivering training, compliance resources and knowledge-sharing initiatives to enhance organisational understanding and awareness.
Producing clear and engaging compliance communications that demonstrate Avnet's environmental compliance programmes and capabilities.
Monitoring global regulatory developments, industry standards and customer expectations to ensure policies remain current and effective.
Managing third-party compliance service providers, reviewing deliverables, monitoring performance and ensuring audit readiness.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to align compliance strategies with business objectives, customer requirements and supplier expectations.
Representing Avnet at industry forums, professional associations and external events to support compliance initiatives and strengthen Avnet's market presence.
Contributing to the ongoing development and future growth of the environmental product compliance function, including the potential leadership of a specialist team.
Requirements
A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Science or a related discipline.
At least 5 years' experience within environmental product compliance, product stewardship, regulatory compliance or a related field.
Strong knowledge of global environmental product regulations, including areas such as extended producer responsibility (EPR), product safety legislation and chemical substance compliance requirements.
Experience interpreting complex regulatory requirements and translating them into practical business processes and guidance.
The ability to assess compliance risks and conduct cost-benefit analyses to support strategic decision-making.
Excellent communication skills with the confidence to influence and advise stakeholders at all levels.
Experience working across multiple regions, cultures and business functions within a global organisation.
A proactive, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
Strong technical proficiency across Microsoft Office applications, ERP systems such as SAP, content management platforms and emerging technologies including AI-based tools.
The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and deliver results with minimal supervision.
