Drive and lead projects commercially to ensure they are procured, delivered within budget and to the highest quality
Formulate commercial strategies in connection with conflict avoidance, conflict management and dispute resolution
Ensure compliance of all contractual activities on the project
Develop and manage the issue of accurate, timely and compliant notices and correspondence
Monitor and report on all commercial aspects of projects, proposing mitigation actions for any issues
Manage the assessment and valuation of contractor applications and payment certifications
Provide advice on change management and produce documentation for approval
Ensure proper retention and archiving of commercial records and undertake final account settlements
Requirements
Significant post-graduate commercial experience in the construction industry with demonstrable track record of achievement
Demonstrable commercial and contract management experience (pre and post contract essential)
Practical approach, logical thought process and a methodical way of working
A creative and innovative approach to problem-solving
Extensive experience of setting up and/or operating office management systems including filing systems and document control and distribution
Extensive experience of drafting effective contractual correspondence and the facilitation of collaborative solutions
Experience of developing & implementing procurement and contract strategies
Proven negotiating and team-working skills with the ability to motivate and lead a team
Strong analytical skills
Demonstrable legal, contractual and construction knowledge
Experience in implementing and delivering strategic objectives and associated change programmes
Confidence and ability to assert influence
Holds an RICS / CICES accredited degree
Full Membership of RICS or CICES
