Traveling to customer premises globally, in most cases onboard a vessel in offshore and in dry docks, for example but not limited to Drill ships, Drilling rigs, Offshore Supply Vessels, Cruise ships, Ferries, Tankers, Container ships, Etc.
Working independently to install, modify, test, repair, or inspect company products and equipment including, but not limited to: Automation systems and programming, PLCs AC800m, AC500, AC450, AC80, 800xA system, ABB panels such as 800 series, proficiency with industry software such as Compact Control Builder.
Troubleshooting communication networks, and performing complex and diverse engineering activities.
Interpreting technical drawings and schematics and making changes as necessary in the field to reflect work carried out on site.
Remote on-call support for customer technical problems is required.
Requirements
Three or more years’ ,preferred, experience in marine power generation and power distribution with a focus on automation and control systems and programming.
Bachelor’s degree, preferred but not required, in electrical engineering or another Electrical technical field.
Familiarity with marine/offshore work environment and procedures.
Experience in marine integrated automation systems
Preferred experience with ABB marine equipment.
Ship electrician or have experience from shipyards, understanding and interest in marine installations.
