The ICT Engineer II will have the opportunity to work with senior design staff to advance their ICT design skills for commercial building design and construction.
Learn, through hands-on application, how to design a wide variety of low voltage projects.
Work as part of the Engineering Team and interact closely with the Project Management Team to produce construction documents, assist in project specifications and assist in the construction administration process.
Assist in Production of Low Voltage System (ICT, Security, A/V) Engineering Deliverables (75%).
Support the production of BIM / CAD deliverables including Revit models and AutoCAD drawings to meet the design requirements of the project.
Perform intermediate design tasks under a senior engineer’s supervision.
Provide project delivery support to the project team, including electronic document and BIM model management as required to facilitate project submissions and completion of deliverables.
Work collaboratively with other technical trade leads (MEP, BAS, EPMS, ICT) to ensure multi-discipline coordination.
Successfully complete assigned BIM / CAD production work within the budget and deadlines as outlined by the project team.
Assist in Pre-Construction Activities (10%) including surveying existing building conditions and preparing technical reports of findings.
Collect data and other information for construction documents, and assist in Construction Activities (15%) such as reviewing shop drawings and submittals, reviewing and responding to RFIs, and preparing project progress reports.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or other related field OR One year of additional experience producing construction documents using Revit and / or AutoCAD with a focus on low voltage design
Minimum of three years of experience producing construction documents using Revit and / or AutoCAD with a focus on low voltage design
Knowledge of networking (copper and fiber optic) systems, cabling, and components
Knowledge of Audio Visual (AV), Access Control and CCTV systems and components
Skilled at using AutoCAD, Revit Computer Aided Design tools
Skilled at using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams), along with exceptional organizational skills for file management
Ability to leverage AI and emerging technologies to streamline workflows, optimize operational processes, and contribute to company-wide innovation
Ability to follow company and site safety requirements
Ability to analyze and prepare documents, reports and correspondence
Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form (technical and non-technical information)
Ability to communicate effectively directly with clients and at times serve as primary point of client contact
Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently with moderate supervision
Ability to work under pressure and meet close deadlines
