As an Intelligence Advisor at Strider, you will support Japan-based clients by delivering strategic intelligence that informs executive and operational decision-making.
Analyze geopolitical and technological developments, identify emerging risks, and help organizations better understand the global dynamics shaping innovation and economic competition.
Conduct research and analysis on nation-state activity, with a focus on strategic intent, economic policy, and technology acquisition.
Analyze emerging and dual-use technologies, including artificial intelligence, semiconductors, quantum technologies, biotechnology, space systems, and advanced manufacturing.
Identify indicators of economic coercion, espionage, illicit technology transfer, and supply chain vulnerabilities.
Develop intelligence products that connect technical signals and geopolitical developments to strategic business and operational implications.
Map relationships among governments, companies, academic institutions, and global supply chains to identify potential risks and exposures.
Deliver timely, actionable insights to senior leaders and operational stakeholders.
Serve as a key liaison between Japan-based client needs and U.S.-based intelligence, product, and engineering teams.
Identify opportunities to improve Strider’s datasets, workflows, and analytic capabilities for the Japan market.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to adapt products and intelligence capabilities to regional client requirements.
Support client workshops, training sessions, and thought leadership engagements in Japan and across the region.
Requirements
3+ years professional experience in strategic intelligence, geopolitical risk analysis, economic security, or a related field.
Expertise in the People’s Republic of China’s science and technology strategy, including technology acquisition and industrial policy.
Experience conducting open-source intelligence (OSINT) research and analysis.
Professional proficiency in Mandarin Chinese.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including experience briefing senior executive, government, or institutional audiences.
Ability to communicate complex analytical findings clearly and effectively to stakeholders in Japanese.
Experience developing intelligence products that translate technical or geopolitical developments into operationally relevant insights.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, client-facing environment with strong ownership and accountability.
Experience supporting clients or stakeholders in Japan or the broader Asia-Pacific region.
Familiarity with Japan’s national security, technology, academic, or industrial landscape.
Experience working with large datasets, data analysis tools, or AI-enabled research workflows.
Experience collaborating across cross-functional teams including intelligence, product, engineering, or client success organizations.
