Strategic and operational leadership of a business unit in the commercial property insurance segment
Conceptual development and market-oriented positioning of the business area
Development of portfolio management, underwriting guidelines and acceptance policies in line with corporate and division strategy
Preparation of regular reports for executive management and derivation of well-founded decisions based on relevant metrics
Planning and implementation of measures to increase revenue and profitability
Organization, coordination and optimization of operational processes as well as management of the department based on qualitative and quantitative KPIs
Definition and consistent implementation of underwriting policy in the commercial property insurance area
Technical support for sales in complex client and risk situations
Maintenance and expansion of key major client relationships and close cooperation with internal and external stakeholders
Driving innovation, digitalization and transformation projects within the area of responsibility
Requirements
Degree in business/economics with a focus on insurance or comparable qualification
Several years of professional experience in commercial or industrial property insurance
Solid understanding of underwriting, portfolio management, underwriting policy and binding/acceptance guidelines
Leadership experience is an advantage; alternatively strong leadership potential and competence in managing change processes
Project management skills, ideally including scaled agile projects
Strong analytical and conceptual skills as well as entrepreneurial thinking
Above-average commitment, strong organizational skills and a high degree of result orientation
Confident manner, strong communication skills and the ability to effectively engage sales, specialist departments and management
