Independently reviews, accepts, rejects or modifies new and renewal business for Personal Lines policies
Reviews risk acceptability based on underwriting guidelines
Analyzes Claim investigations to determine policy rescindment
Trains and mentors new hires, assisting inexperienced underwriters
Builds and maintains relationships with key agents
Works with agents to correct errors and evaluates agency exceptions

College level coursework in Business Administration or a related field, or the equivalent work experience
CPCU, CIC, IIA or other insurance related coursework
Minimum two years property and casualty underwriting experience
Analyzing, problem solving and making sound decisions
Negotiating and resolving conflict
Demonstrating proficient levels in operating and navigating within underwriting and processing computer programs and systems
In depth knowledge and understanding of underwriting policies, procedures and practices
Knowledge of property and casualty insurance products
Ability to evaluate complex personal lines risks in accordance with the underwriting guidelines
