Electrical Field Engineer

Role Overview

• Responsible for providing Engineering Field Services as well as performing Engineering Design and Analysis under the responsible charge of a Professional Engineer
• Performs equipment, control system, communications, troubleshooting, relay testing, start-up, and commissioning services
• Provides onsite construction support and supervision; attends construction meetings, assist with construction RFIs, questions, and design updates
• Prepares field testing, troubleshooting, investigation, and construction progress reports
• Prepares a variety of documents and reports associated with projects including cost estimates, budget reports, and studies
• Programs, wires, and installs protective relaying and control systems
• Perform detailed design of all aspects of Electric Power Systems to include one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, control and relaying schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA, conduit and cable sizing/routing, grounding design, writing of equipment specifications, project and construction cost estimates, and project scheduling
• Reviews the work of Designers, Drafters, and Field Service Personnel for general quality and accuracy, as required

Requirements

• Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution, Electric Power option preferred
• 2+ years of Engineering and relevant field experience
• FE, PE is a plus, but not required
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and power system software such as EasyPower, ETAP or SKM
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and other computer software
• Experience with Omicron test equipment preferred
• A strong command of the English language
