Secur-Serv is a leading managed services provider of IT, print, and hardware services. The Field Service Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of enterprise-level network infrastructure, acting as a technical resource within the network engineering team and ensuring high levels of network performance and security.
Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot computers
- Create customer documentation for customer projects
- Install and configure systems
- Server and Network Maintenance
- Client end user support
- Participate in hardware and software rollouts, end of lease upgrades, and critical projects to maintain the technology readiness within the organization
- Manage and monitor status of Server backups
- Respond to user’s needs and questions
- Participates on initiatives, with deliverables and meets quality standards, on time
- Leads cross-functional initiatives, with deliverables and meets quality standards, on time
- Creates System Design Documents
- Estimates system level and enterprise solution work efforts
- Delivers personal tasks on time and leads the delivery of tasks for natural or cross-functional workgroup
- Designs, develops and implements complex business rules
- Responsible for fulfilling end-user requests
- Provide off-hour coverage and emergency support as needed
- Keep an inventory of all electronic components
- Routinely operates under deadlines and may be subject to extreme workloads
- Periodically provides guidance to and assists in training less experienced individuals
- Works independently
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 5 years of proven hands-on network engineering experience
- Travel (Daily, local commute)
- Strong knowledge in multiple infrastructure and internetworking methodologies
- Technically proficient in switching, routing, security policy (firewall), and load balancing technologies; acts as internal consultant
- Strong focus on network security and segmentation, with the ability to support environments subject to multiple, industry-specific compliance
- Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS)
- Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model
- Excellent business acumen
- Solid organizational skills and ability to effectively prioritize a high volume of incoming requests
- Ability to work on a flexible schedule (occasional Saturdays and evenings)
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work with a strong sense of urgency
- Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools
- Proficiency with the following devices (ability to design, implement, and support): Cisco Catalyst switches, Cisco Nexus switches, Cisco ASA-X Firewalls, Cisco FTD Firewalls with IDS/IPS & FMC, Cisco ISR4451-X, F5 BIGIP I Series Load Balancers w/ VCMP, Aruba Wireless Infrastructure (IAP)
- Experience with critical facilities (electrical, HVAC, physical security)
- Strong understanding of Virtualization environments (ESXi and Hyper-V)
- Strong understanding of computer communications, networks and protocols
- Knowledge in Storage/SAN, Compute, and .NET Web Application management
- Knowledge of Cisco Meraki and Firewall Programming
- Knowledge of Azure and AWS
